Description: I designed this traditional twin keel fish to be a modern version of Steve Lis' design from the late 1960s and early 70s. Following Steve Lis and Skip Frye I keep a bit of belly in the front of this board which transitions to flat between the fins and out the tail. The keel fin fish has developed the reputation of being a bit of a groveler board, but it is one of my favorite sticks when the surf gets a bit bigger and lined up. Holding as hard as you can push it off the bottom, and blasting back to the top. This board loves to be kept on-rail and requires little input from the rider to be taken to top speeds.
Prices begin at $650 for this model.
Black Cat:
Fin: Single, slight flex
Hull: Slight belly blended into a 60/40 down rail, panel vee through the tail
Board Length: 6'8" to mid 7'
Description: This is my mid-length single fin. When the surf is a bit smaller, and a log isn't quite the call. I've also had some really fun sessions in shoulder to head high beach break on this board. It requires a more front-footed type of surfing, but is highly rewarding to get this board dialed.
Prices begin at $700 for this model.
Farm Dog:
Fin: MR twin fin
Hull: Flat to double concave, spiral vee through tail
Board Length: low 5' to 6'
Description: I borrowed elements from Mark Richards for this design, as he perfected the performance twin fin in the mid to late 1970s. Fast, yet maneuverable and great for more critical surf.
Prices begin at $650 for this model.
Lunch Box:
Fin: Single Greenough 4A
Hull: Belly throughout
Board Length: 9' range as a log, mid 7' range as a mid length glider.
Description: Single fin log with a slight pig shape.
Prices begin at $850 for this model.
Fishplacement Hull:
Fin: "Shapes and Hulls" volan flex keel designed by Tim Bowler
Hull: 3/4" displacement entry into flat above and through the fins.
Description: This model has been the focus of my personal surfing for a few years. This board aims to bridge the gap between the fish and the true Greg Liddle style displacement hull. Drawn out, full rail bottom turns that take you into the pocket and high line, but can still redirect from the back foot.
Prices begin at $725 for this model.
Sling Shot:
Fin: Single True Ames PHD, 2.5" single tab side bites.
Hull: A true displacement hull
Board Length: High 5' to low 6' range
Description: A true displacement hull designed for finer points and reefs. Borrowing design ideas from Greg Liddle, Brian Hilbers, and Marc Andreini I set out to create my version of a stubby that would perform well on the points of New England. Inquire for more information on design and materials.
